Congrats to Courtney Townsend with another no-hitter game... Also congrats to Pine Prairie High Panthers who currently hold the longest winning streak in 2a. 12 just isn't enough! Keep up the good work girls...

PPpantherfan, that is very impressive. How many has she thrown? How many K's? I looked at your schedule and was impressed to see only two runs scored against you guys since March 12! Some people say that is whats wrong with softball, I say that is whats softball about softball. I love to see a commanding pitcher who trusts her team mates enough to throw the difficult pitches...to play the edges of where the batter is taking cuts at the ball, and if they get it in play, the fielders make the play to keep a pitcher in a no no.
Congratulations to Courtney and to you who are obviously enjoying this run.

Congratulations to Courtney and to you who are obviously enjoying this run. 17 shut outs. The loss to Lafayette went to ITB and the 5 runs to W. Monroe were in one inning and on 5 errors. Oh, and she is only a Jr and very very humble.

That is awesome screwball. I did notice that the only two losses were to 5A teams. And to lose in ITB is heartbreaking. We had a couple ITB games this year too. NOT MY FAVORITE! Anyway, good luck to you guys as yall continue to move forward. I hope we get to see you guys play sometime.

As of April 2, not including last nights shutout. She had 249 K's, 29 walks, and gave up 36 hits. Lastnight i believe they might of had 4 players put the ball in play. The rest were k's. But not sure it might have been less. Or maybe 1 r 2 more. I would have to get with Coach Carloyn on that.

okay she had 14 K's lastnite. No walks and No hits... which would make her 263 K's, 29 walks, and 36 hits for the season!

Congratulations to Courtney and to you who are obviously enjoying this run. What those baseball people (at least they're the one's I hear it from the most) fail to realize is that it's exactly what baseball is all about as well...difference being, in baseball you need two. lol

Seriously though, show me a baseball team that wins a Champioship without a dominating pitcher. I played HS baseball, and in fact was a pitcher, so no hating on baseball here, just pointing that out.

Thank you and best wishes to you and yours too. Should be another interesting year in Sulphur, our State will be well represented in all Classifications.

That is a great point. They also say things like "show me another sport that relies on one player so much" I say look at football and the QB. But it really is just opinion so I'm okay with it all. As long as we don't try to change it too much. I think the trust factor has to be looked at here though. If she throws a chase pitch way off the plate, she has got to trust her catcher to get it. Especially id there are runners on. If your catcher can't get there, maybe you throw more conservatively and get it jacked over the wall. As you know, thee is just way more to it than throwing fast.

I am looking forward to it fondly. My favorite time of the sports year.

Two words...Kobe Bryant. ha ha. I could name many others in many sports but I obviously don't need to be preaching to you on that matter. Like you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don't lettum take free shots- all friendly banter though.
