The Grant High Lady Cougars took the lead of the District 4-4A race with a win over the Tioga Lady Indians at Tioga tonight. Allowing only two baserunners Nancy Bunting pitched 7 scoreless innings and allowing only 2 hits, 4 K's, and no walks for Grant. Grant scored their first run when SS Lauren Ray led off the 4th inning with a double to left. L. Ray reached 3rd on a Sac. Bunt by Pitcher Nancy bunting, and then scored on a ground ball to the SS by Grants firstbaseman Jaymee McFarland. Grant added another run in the 7th. Offensive leaders for the cougars were Chelsi Durand 2/3 with a SB, Lauren Ray 2/4 with a SB, Run Scored, Brooke Jones 1/4 with an RBI, Jaymee Mcfarland was 0/3 with an RBI, Madisson Hardee 1/4 . Tiogas 2B Hailey McDaniel and 1B Cara Miley both had hits for the Lady Indians. Sorry if I left anyone out, these were the stats I was given.... Big win for the Lady Cougars.....Keep it going Ladies......
